Amy & Quincy's Wedding

Amy & Quincy's big day was beautiful. Instead of a big wedding, they opted for a small ceremony with family and friends. Ferrel & Chris, Natalee's generous neighbors, offered up their home and backyard to all of us.

We were worried it would rain but the day turned out to be perfect. Friends and family gathered for the ceremony and reception, catered by Famous Dave's, then danced and chatted the night away under the stars.

The newlyweds later flew to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for their honeymoon.

Congratulations! We're so happy for you both.
Here we are now, entertain us! Who's has whiter legs? Be honest.
No, really. This is fun. Dylan, Lolo, yours truly and Lexi.
Girls are such suckers for men in uniform. We're proud of you Private King!
Sunny and 70 degrees, the perfect day for a hike before everyone heads home - Bob & Kathy to SLC, Heidi to SEA and for us...PRG here we come!

October 2008

"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne

October was the start of a very busy few months for us. The girls flew to Phoenix to spend time with family while I stayed behind to work and fly to Barcelona for a tech conference (let me know if you want to see those photos, too). Looking back now, it was a great time for everyone but it was hard being away from the girls for so long.

Enjoy the photos. November coming soon!

I can't be sure, but I think Vinson and Lolo are debating about the likelyhood of Obama winning the presidency. They both seem to agree that a positive "change has come to America."

A brief tour of Britt's favorite kids park.
BFF x 2
The carved hippo at Letna park sure is fun to crawl through.
Our little girl is getting so BIG!
The last beautiful autumn afternoon of 2008.
Lolo looks out on the plane that will take her and Melinda, non-stop, to Phoenix from London's Heathrow aiport. Just a quick 10-hour flight;) Melinda was a champ!
Phoenix is great! It's sunny and warm everyday! Lunch sometimes includes a trip to Johnny Rockets. I highly recommend the crayon-puzzle appetizer.
They all look the same to me Papa Jerry, which one should we choose?
I found the one I want and I'm driving it home. Hop in!
Ryan has a watertable in his backyard. It combines some of my favorite elements: water and toys! I got my dress wet so mommy stripped me down, btw.
OK, who's ready for manicures and facials? Lolo doing her best Scottsdale cougar impression.
Melinda and Lolo sweating on the train in Train Park. It was a very hot October in Phoenix this year.
Wait, this isn't a unicorn! I specifically asked for a unicorn.
Here's Lolo actually participating in a kids gymnastics class. Her participation lasted a whole 3 minutes before she distanced herself from the other kids. She muttered something about the evil of team sports and the power of individualism before Melinda took her elsewhere;)
Help, Ryan is drowning in a sea of colorful balls!
Happy Halloween! Lolo dressed as Heidi this year. Here she is practicing her maximum cuteness routine. Adults are powerless against it. I'm told that, by the end of the night, Lolo's candy bucket was too heavy for her to carry. That's my girl!
"This is my pumpkin. There are many like it but this one is MINE."
At first, Lolo was too scared to walk up to the door and knock all by herself. After quickly realizing how easy it was to get free candy, her fear suddenly vanished like many gummy bears later that night:)
There was fun to be had at the Arizona State Fair! Lots of rides, rodeos, animals and crap food. Hey, where'd they put the horns on this bull, Papa Jerry?
Watching my first rodeo.
A super-sized coke and hot dog, just what every growing girl needs.
