November 2008

"No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,/ No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds, - November!" - Thomas Hood

November in Phoenix was hectic. There was 1) Nana's visit, 2) Poppa's visit, 3) Thanksgiving, 4) the King family gathering and, 5) Amy and Quincy's wedding. In between, the Schmick's tried their best to eek out some quality time with their granddaughter, too.

In the end, the visits were too short, Thanksgiving was over before we knew it, the King kids came and went, and the beautiful wedding day just flew by. [Sigh], such is life. Regardless, we're glad we had time to spend with the people we care about most in this world.

"There is nothing wrong with your [computer monitor]. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission..." Nana flew out to Phoenix for a few days of fun and catch up. We hadn't seen Nanna in the flesh since our trip to Paris in August 2007. To celebrate the big reunion, we went to her favorite restaurant: Chuck E. Cheese Pizzeria. It's no coincidence that we share the same taste in food, like grandmother like granddaughter:)
No matter how much Nana begged, the store manager wouldn't let her ride in the American flag-covered monster truck. Bummer.
Looks like skeeball skills are hereditary after all. It's mommy's super-secret talent and now it's Lolo's too.
What poppa Jerry failed to realize is that Lolo likes Chuck E. Cheese AT A DISTANCE. Close up, not so much.
Nana-Neenie glamor shot. Don't they look fabulous? If you're in the market for two incredibly supportive, sweet, and caring mother in-laws then I've got some bad news for you. These two are taken:)
I call this: static electricity-fabulous. Look for it in hair salons this coming Spring. It'll be all the rage.
Ryan is so easy to talk to. We can just talk and talk for hours about all sorts of stuff: favorite cartoon episodes, favorite breakfast cereals, the economic recession, etc.
We had some time to kill at the train park so I thought I'd do a little tagging just to keep up my street cred.
That's me and Nana. She was totally jealous of my train conductor's hat and I was totally jealous of her new hairdoo. Loving that bob!
Mommy, Lolo, Poppa Jerry and Granny.
Don't you just LOVE the princess outfit granny gave me? I'm never taking it off--ever!
I was so surprised to learn that granny was an expert on Barbie-playing.
Mommy and I picked up poppa at the airport in Phoenix. I was so happy to see him. We had spent 5 whole weeks apart and that's too long in my book.
Poppa, Lolo, Aunt Natalee and Uncle Kurt.
Poppa bought me this flamenco dress while he was in Barcelona, don't you just LOVE it?
Poppa, please pass the cranberry sauce. Neenie and Poppa Jerry spent all day in the kitchen, making Thanksgiving perfect and I want to taste everything.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just love the trampoline at aunt Natalee's house. I could jump on it for hours!

OK everyone, let's all do the crossed-hands thing on this one. Ready?
