Sittin' in a Park in Paris, France

Well, our trip to Paris has come and gone. I've turned 30. And, Britt and I celebrated our 1st anniversary. You could say it was a busy month. But, what a good time!

It's hard now to look at all the pictures and not get a little bummed out that Mom (Nana) is back in Texas, and we're allllllllll the way over here. But, it was such an fun vacation, and I'm so glad we dediced to do it.

Big props to Rick Steeves for showing us around town with his handy "Paris 2007" edition! We love you Rick! Call me!

I hope you enjoy the pictures. And, we'll see you in September!

Melinda

A picture and a few words, say it all.

Nana and Laurence, reunited at last!

Our beautiful adopted neighborhood. Just watch out for the crazy guy on General Le Clerc!

We spent ALOT of time doing this while we were in Paris.

Laurence meets the holy grail of desserts...a nutella crepe. Tear.

We love Montmarte!

Nana had to find La Goulue (a famous can-can dancer for the Moulin Rouge painted by Toulouse Lautrec).

It's just not touristin' if ya don't visit a graveyard!

This is Nana, the most catholic Non-catholic you'll ever meet!

Laurence going for the first of many carousel rides.

And you can tell everybody...that this is your song!

Wow. Britt and Melinda in the same photo!

Too cute.

This one's for my cousin B.J.!

Hey, who wants two tickets to my gun show?

Laurence and Daddy admire the view from level one of the Eiffel Tower.

Luxemborg Gardens...a rather nice way to spend an August morning!

Found art! And it's true!

Laurence and Nana testing out the French playground equipment at the Luxemborg Gardens.

A pond at the gardens.

Not bad for an old train station!

Laurence checks out the "Minimalist" wing of the Orsay.

Can you see where Degas messed this one up?

Holy crap! I've always loved these two paintings! Crazy to see them in person.

Nana wanted her picture with the Absinthe drinker. A rather depressing painting!

Gobble Gobble Monet!

Mine and Whistler's mother.

Nana was a little disappointed The Thinker was green, but it was still one of those "awe" moments.

Alot of cool Paris monuments...all in one convenient shot!

Hey, how do we get in this thing with a stroller?

Winged Victory.

Well, there she is. All 8 x 10 of her.

Nana and Laurence eating a madeline (we ate a bag of them EVERY DAY while we were in Paris). Mmm.

Birthday mimosas! Woowoo!

This is the last shot of the stroller at Versailles. You couldn't take it inside the palace, so we had to carry Laurence. We were able to tour the apartments in record time...our backs were aching! But, they did allow the stroller in the gardens, which we were able to enjoy more.

The royal chapel in Versailles.

Three gals and a hall o' mirrors.

Versailles water show (on many levels).

Um, yeah, it was a little rainy at Versailles.

Bonjour!

This is my Paris Kung-Fu outfit...East meets West.

Nana getting her catholicism on in Notre Dame.

Hey mom, what's a flying buttress?

We love Paris!

Mom, Laurence, and Dom.

There's so many fabulous places to shop! Where to begin?

Mom enjoying a kolsch, which is a must-do while in Cologne.

Nana and me in the Rhein Park.

Bye bye Cologne!
